Helping Our Family Stay Healthy – Learning Good Habits Together

On Wednesday, 11th June 2025, the K1 children at Skool4Kidz @ Woodlands Crescent Meadows participated in an engaging learning session titled Helping Our Family Stay Healthy. As part of our SSDB 2025 project, the activity aimed to help children recognise healthy habits and identify foods that contribute to a balanced lifestyle.

Using an interactive whiteboard, the children sorted various food items into categories such as fruits, vegetables, dairy, grains, and treats. They explored images and made thoughtful choices about which foods belonged to each group. Through guided questions, they were encouraged to explain their decisions—for example, “Apples are healthy because they come from trees,” or “Candy is a treat we eat sometimes.”

Beyond food sorting, the children also identified healthy habits such as drinking water, brushing teeth, and getting enough exercise. They eagerly shared examples of what they do at home to stay healthy and how their families support good routines.

Throughout the lesson, the K1 children remained focused, engaged, and proud to talk about how they stay healthy with their families. This session supported the development of their language skills, decision-making, and self-awareness—while also reinforcing that even young children can take simple steps toward living a healthy lifestyle.

Helping Our Family Stay Healthy was a valuable experience that deepened the children’s understanding of health, habits, and the importance of making good choices as part of their everyday lives—an essential message in our SSDB 2025 journey.
