Go Green Project

Our ‘Start Small Dream Big 2018’ project is the ‘Go Green!’ project where we instill awareness to children on the importance of recycling and care for the environment.

Our teachers had a presentation on educating the children how waste can affect our Earth. We also discussed on ways we can minimize waste through the 3R: Reduce, Reuse and Recycle.

As part of the Go Green Project, children and parents were encouraged to bring recycle materials such as newspapers, plastic containers, cereal boxes, toilet rolls and old magazines to school. These recycled materials will also be given a new look where children will transform them into attractive artworks such as piggy bank, stationary holder and pencil box!

The K2 children were painting over their cereal and tissue boxes as they created their very own pencil boxes.

The K1 children were making stationary holders using toilet rolls and recycle materials!

The N2 children painted over the plastic containers as they transformed it into piggy banks!

Remaining items such newspapers and plastic containers were also being brought to the Karung Guni man and recycling bins where our children practice the exercise to minimize waste.

The K2 collected old newspapers to be sold to the neighbourhood Karung Guni man.

Instead of throwing away unused and old plastic containers, the N2 children learned to minimize plastic waste by putting it into the recycling bin.

Our school also held a fundraising booth where the children’s artworks were sold! Our students and parents have shown a lot of support in purchasing the artworks and the funds collected from their purchases will be donated to support the President’s Challenge charities.
