This year’s “Start Small Dream Big” project builds upon last year’s theme, focusing on the elderly with dementia. Our theme, “Focusing on the Abilities of Elderly with Dementia,” aims to promote understanding and appreciation for individuals living with dementia.
Project Overview for N2 to K2 Children
The project timeline is as follows:
-
Mid-May to End May: Planning activities, brainstorming, and setting up classroom learning corners.
-
June-July: Introduction to dementia through storybooks and role-plays, and collaboration with elderly homes to schedule activities.
-
August: Activities with seniors at Grace Lodge and Golden Care elderly homes.
-
September: Project wrap-up, where children will share their reflections and experiences.
Through this project, our young learners will gain a deeper understanding of dementia, their abilities, and develop empathy towards individuals living with the condition. See attached photos for glimpses of our project activities!
