On 22nd August 2025, M.Y World @ Yishun Northland celebrated Family Day with a special focus on sustainability. The event began with exciting performances by our children. The children sang and danced to songs about recycling, spreading the message of caring for the environment through their lively and joyful performances.
After the performances, families explored the game booths set up around the centre. Each booth also carried a focused VSLD objective, as we wanted to promote not only sustainability but also the values, social-emotional competencies, and learning dispositions we nurture in our children. Games such as Saving Water Toss, I Can Recycle, and Racket Ralph (with some ideas also inspired by ActiveSG) added to the fun and learning. It was truly a meaningful experience that strengthened family bonds while reinforcing the importance of sustainability.
We also had a Sustainability Gallery, where we displayed projects made using recyclables, done by the children. They had worked on these project and crafts during our June sustainability project. This gallery showed parents what their children had learned about protecting the environment.
The event was a wonderful example of how our school community came together to celebrate and learn about sustainability. Let’s continue to work together to make a lasting positive impact on our Earth!
