Empoowering Young Hearts: Fostering Children’s Awareness and Readiness for Safety (SSDB 2025)

E-Bridge Pre-School @ Bukit Panjang launched its 2025 Start Small Dream Big (SSDB) project on 7 April, aligning with World Health Day. Centred on the theme “Together for Tomorrow: Empowering Young Hearts,” the initiative focuses on equipping children with essential safety skills, such as first aid and basic bandaging, while fostering empathy, social responsibility, and emergency preparedness through experiential learning.

Renee shared, “We need to call 995 when someone is injured.”

Ethan asked, “Why to do when got blood?”

For the younger age group, children from Pre-Nursery to Nursery 2 were engaged in an experience through the story Poor Little Rabbit! by Jörg Mühle, which introduced empathy and basic first aid concepts using familiar tools from a first aid box.

For the older age group, the highlight was a visit from Henry, the Red Cross Junior mascot, who introduced simple life-saving tips and bandaging techniques. Children practised these skills through hands-on activities, which foster teamwork, empathy, and confidence in caring for others.
