To kickstart our SSDB project, prior to delving into the topics that we have selected, we raised awareness on how we can care for our environment through a series of activities during our centreās Earth Day Celebrations!
The children came into the centre wearing their stunning and sustainable fits created using recyclables for our Recyclables Costume Contest.
They also engaged in a series of activities to display the 3Rs of Reduce, Reuse and Recycle, that included creating an artwork (recyclables stamping art) using our recyclables as well as completing the clean up with Water Rationing. This allowed the children to reflect on the importance of access to clean water and how we should not take it for granted. They also designed their own eco-bags to reduce the use of one time plastics when they make purchases as different vendors with their parents.Ā
