As part of our ongoing “As part of our ongoing “Start Small, Dream Big” initiative, children aged 4 to 6 actively participated in caring for the Earth by contributing to our compost bin project. Using coffee grounds kindly donated by the Starbucks team and eggshells from our preschool centre’s kitchen, the children learned firsthand about the importance of recycling organic waste and nurturing the environment.
Throughout the program, the children showed enthusiasm and responsibility as they helped collect and add these natural materials to the compost bin. This hands-on experience fostered their awareness of sustainability and the simple but impactful ways they can care for our planet.
We are deeply grateful to the centre’s aunties for their consistent support in collecting eggshells and to the Starbucks staff for generously providing coffee grounds. Their contributions made this meaningful learning opportunity possible and strengthened our community partnership.
Overall, the composting activity not only educated the children about environmental stewardship but also inspired a sense of pride and connection to the Earth. We look forward to continuing this green journey with our young learners, encouraging them to dream big while starting small.
