Biodiversity Week: A Crab, a Shell, and a little Help

For Biodiversity week, the children enjoyed the stop-motion animation of ‘A Crab, a Shell, and a little Help’, and saw how the presence of trash hurt Timmy the Turtle, Goby the Fish and Sally the Snail. We even saw how Hershie used a tin can as a shell! We learnt that we should be responsible for our trash, and not throw them into the sea because of the harm it brings to the sea creatures.

We discussed the challenges and dangers that sea creatures face when humans are not responsible of the environment around them. How can humans be irresponsible?

The children then went to the Open Learning Playroom, which was set up as an underwater ocean, to help identify and pick up “trash” that did not belong there. A “clean ocean” made for a much better experience underwater!

The activity book proved helpful as the children recalled the lessons learnt from the animated story.
