Before the big event, teachers helped to set up the booth and prepare the games as well as the goodies. Our Executive Principal Ms Alice dropped by at the event too to show her support for us.
At 10am, the event started at St Hilda’s Secondary School. Around 17 K2 children and parents volunteered to participate to mend the booths for the event. Also, some boys brigade officers helped us out in the event too.
And the carnival began! The children have lots of fun mending the games at the booth. They have lots of fun playing with the community and interacting with them.
While some of the children and parents mending the booth, some children and parents were given the opportunity to walk around and interact with the elders. Certainly, just a small talk and gift goes a long way as it clearly cheers them up and made their day.
Before the event ended, the guest of honour of the event, Mr Seah Kian Peng, member of parliament from Marine Parade GRC, arrived and interacted with our children.
Overall, it was an enjoyable and fulfilling event for all the children, parents and teachers. Even though it was tiring and hot for them, they find it enjoyable to help the community by talking to them and giving them presents. Some even volunteered to help out in similar event in the future. Good job children!
