A Caring and Inclusive Singapore (Curious Creations) - Kiddiwinkie Schoolhouse @ Braddell

Our little curious learners are extremely eager to embark on their SSDB projects. The theme of our project is “A Caring and Inclusive Singapore”. In this period of trying time, we have seen how everyone has remained united and working together to fight the COVID-19 pandemic.

What better way to bring light to the unity we have shown by involving our little ones in an art sale of creations made by their little hands. All proceeds from the art sale will go towards the beneficiaries of the President’s Challenge.

Our K2 children working on air clay to create their very own representation of the tourists attractions in Singapore such as our Singapore Zoo, Butterfly and Insect Kingdom at Sebtosa, SEA Aquarium and our local hawkers. They will then be placing their completed depictions on a large pebble to create paper weights, pencil caps, key chains and hair clips.

The K2 children are also working on silhouette art pieces of a Merlion on canvas, depicting the different races in Singapore through fabric pieces.

Our K1 children working hard with paint on canvas to create our iconic “Dragon Playground”. They even put to use the art technique of “Pointilism” which they learnt about as part of their Inquiry topic in Term 2. What an amazing job!

In addition, our K1 children are creating paintings of iconic places of interest and symbols of Singapore on little tote bags. Now, who wouldn’t love a little tote bag!

Children from our Nursery class are absolutely thrilled to create their depiction of the strong defence force we have in Singapore. The children are working on a canvas art to depict the different races in Singapore and the meaning of living in a democratic, safe and secure country.

What a vibrant Merlion that is! In progress by our lovely group of Nursery children as well! The Merlion is a representation of Singapore when it was a young fishing village.

Our little Pre-Nursery children, are taking their journey outdoors where they soak in some dye-rific fun! They are each making their very own tie-dye t-shirts by experimenting with different colours of dye. The cooling t-shirts will be perfect for our sunny Singapore!

Lastly, even our youngest dear ones have a part to play. They are creating stencil art of our iconic flower, “The Vanda Miss Joaquim” on canvas pouches. The children may not know much about Singapore yet but they sure are having fun working on their little project.

The art pieces are almost complete and we are are looking forward to the art sale pretty soon! The children’s art pieces are looking absolutely fabulous and we can’t be prouder of their efforts! 😊
