3R’s(Reuse, Reduce, Recycle), Water Conservation, Electricity Conservation

During the June school holidays, the children learned about the 3Rs (Reuse, Reduce, Recycle), Water Conservation, and Electricity Conservation as part of the Start Small Dream Big (SSDB) campaign with the theme “Unite for a Greener Future.” Each class from Playgroup to Kindergarten 2 (K2) focused on the 3Rs: Reuse, Reduce, and Recycle.

The N2 class sorted items that can be placed in the recycling bin and identified them according to the materials they are made of—metal, paper, glass, and plastic. The Kindergarten 1 (K1) class performed an enthusiastic song about the 3Rs. The K2 class created their own 3Rs bin to sort various items into the appropriate bins.

For water conservation, all classes practiced simple habits like turning off the tap while washing hands and using cups during water play, helping them understand the importance of saving water. The N2 and K1 classes created posters with the slogan “Make every drop of water count,” while the K2 class conducted an experiment on ‘Water Pollution’ using materials such as clean water and ink.

Lastly, the children learned about electricity conservation. They were encouraged to turn off lights and devices when not in use and to use natural light whenever possible. Through songs and storytelling, the children were able to easily grasp these conservation concepts and begin forming eco-friendly habits.
