2025 SSDB Project “Upcycling: Trash to Treasure” @ The Schoolhouse Dover

Our preschool years (Nursery, K1, K2) children have embarked on Start Small Dream Big (SSDB) project titled “Upcycling: Trash to Treasure” this year! We hope that we will be able to contribute to help save the Earth through making 3Rs (Reduce, Reuse, Recycle) a daily task and at the same time, help to minimise waste through upcycling.

We had our Launch Party on 23rd April and signed up for participation in “My Preschool Shines @ South West 2025”, organised by South West Community Development Council (SWCDC). As a class, we shared ideas and discussed on what we will want to work on. We also had an environmental week during June holiday when we joined a school talk on 3Rs and brought in recyclables.

After the school talk, we recycled cardboard boxes and decorated it to create and set up a recycling centre in our school! We also assigned roles for each of us to take on responsibility to keep our school clean and green.

Thank you to our dearest daddies and mummies for supporting and helping us to clean and bring in recyclables for us to sort and put it into the corresponding bins in our recycling centre which we have created. Stay tuned to find out the final product of our upcycling project!
