On the 26 May 2025 , our K1 children from PCF Sparkletots Preschool had a very special opportunity to visit the nearby elderly home for a heartwarming event that blended creativity, sustainability, and compassion.
This meaningful outreach programme included an eco fashion show, a thank-you card presentation, and a cheerful dance performance—all thoughtfully prepared by the children and their families.
The event began with a delightful eco fashion show, where each child confidently walked around the common hall in their unique costume made entirely from recycled materials. With help from their parents, the children transformed used items—like newspaper, plastic bags, old fabric, and bottle caps—into wonderful wearable art. As they paraded around the room, the elderly residents clapped and smiled, clearly delighted by the children’s creativity and joyful energy.
💌 Sharing Kindness – Thank You Cards for the Elderly
After the fashion show, the children personally approached the elderly residents to hand over handmade thank-you cards, decorated with drawings, stickers, and sweet messages. This simple act brought warm smiles and emotional moments, as many seniors were touched by the children’s thoughtful gestures. The children learned that a small act of kindness can brighten someone’s day.
💃 Dance Performance
To conclude the visit, the children performed a lively dance routine to uplifting music, which brought even more joy to the room. With big smiles and energetic moves, they showed their appreciation and respect through movement and expression. Some elderly residents even tapped along to the rhythm, enjoying the cheerful atmosphere.
This outreach programme gave our children a meaningful experience to:
Practice environmental awareness through creating recycled fashion
Develop social-emotional skills by connecting with the elderly community
Build confidence and expression through performance and interaction
We are incredibly proud of our children for showing confidence, care, and creativity, and deeply grateful to our parent community for their involvement in costume-making and accompanying the children.
Together, we created not just a performance, but a shared memory filled with love, learning, and laughter.
