In order to conclude our SSDB project, the children tried to create their own food for consumption. Prior to cooking, the children discussed ways to keep themselves and the food clean and hygienic. They selected and followed a simple recipe (choco rocks, colourful pancakes, caramelised bananas, chocolate chip cookies), and packaged the food items under the supervision of class teachers. The children also explored the value of money, as well as ways to market their products to attract more customers. The children talked about cost, nutritional values, and expiration dates too. The children ended off the project by bringing home and presenting to their families their food creations.
