The children at Sunshine Kids @ 519a Tampines began their Start Small Dream Big (SSDB) journey with great excitement and joy. To mark the beginning of their meaningful project, they held a vibrant launch party themed around kindness to animals, featuring a special guest—Sora, the nature explorer, along with her team of amazing wildlife friends.
Sora brought along her animal companions, including Suzy, the Straw Headed Bulbul to explore Singapore’s diverse wildlife habitats.
Through engaging storytelling and fun-filled interactive songs, the children learned about the importance of respecting, showing kindness and protecting animals, both in the wild and in everyday life.
The highlight of the event was a collective kindness pledge. Each child dipped their hands in paint and placed their colourful handprint on a large pledge banner that read:
🖐️ “We Pledge to Be Kind to All Animals” 🖐️
This visual pledge symbolised their promise to show compassion, empathy, and care towards all living creatures. Additionally, “Animals in our city in nature” exhibition panel by NParks was also displayed outside the centre for parents to read.
The launch event not only kickstarted their SSDB project in an exciting and memorable way, but also instilled a strong message about empathy and responsibility. With hearts full of purpose and hands marked with colourful promises, the children of Sunshine Kids @ 519a Tampines proudly embarked on their mission to make the world a kinder place for animals.
