Sprinkles of Kindness

This year the children embarked on a meaningful journey of learning, understanding, and giving back to our migrant workers who contribute so much to building Singapore.

Together with their friends and teachers, the children brainstormed ideas on what they could create as gifts after learning about the hard work and sacrifices of our migrant workers. With creativity and teamwork, they designed and made thoughtful items such as thank-you posters and cards, reusable drawstring bags with their own drawings, booklets for leisure reading, and water bottle covers.

To deepen their appreciation, the children visited a nearby coffeeshop where they spotted and interacted with migrant workers. They asked questions about their jobs and daily lives, before personally gifting their handmade items as tokens of gratitude.

Parents were also actively involved, coming together to donate items which were then gifted to “It’s Raining Raincoats,” an organisation that supports migrant workers in their daily needs. The children visited the organisation to deliver these donations and learn more about how it helps our migrant community.

Through this journey, the children truly lived out the spirit of starting small with simple acts of kindness, while dreaming big of making a difference in the lives of others.
