We started the 2021 SSDB project in May by inviting parents to collect some recyclable materials such as plastic bottles, old magazines, and tin containers. From that, the children from Nursery 2 class learned to sort and classify the materials at the MY Recycling Station.
Using the materials collected, the children designed and created the 2D or 3D artworks which then sold to parents.
The children managed to raise over $250 from the sales of their artworks and the money collected was channelled to MY Manna, the Metropolitan YMCA outreach programme for low-income families. Through this act, the children learned one of many ways to give back to society.
