As part of our Start Small Dream Big (SSDB) journey, our project focuses on “Caring for Our Community.” This year, we collaborated with All Saints Silver Lifestyle Club @ Yishun Fern Grove to bring joy and kindness to the elderly residents.
Before the visit, the children prepared colourful wristbands for the elderly and practiced dancing to a few songs, 听我说谢谢你, Chan Mali Chan, and It’s A Beautiful Day, in preparation for their performance.
On 12 June 2025, we visited the elderly care centre. The children started the visit by handing out and helping the elderly put on the wristbands they had made. Together, they also created sensory light bottles, an activity that encouraged intergenerational bonding through creativity and play.
The visit ended with the children’s cheerful song and dance performance, which brought smiles and laughter to everyone. It was a meaningful experience that helped the children learn about compassion, respect and the joy of giving back to the community.
