MK6 SSDB X SDSC: A Meaningful Finale

To conclude the SSDB project, we held a special fundraising event on 24th October at our own centre in collaboration with SDSC. The children took on the roles of young changemakers, managing game and fundraising booths designed to promote understanding of various physical disabilities.

The four game booths included:

• Shoot It! – Participants tucked paper under their arms to experience hand disabilities and tried to throw a ball into a box.

• Choose Your Tool – A challenge inspired by gross motor disabilities, where participants used their non-dominant hand with chopsticks or tongs to pick up beans.

• Cone Hat Limbo – Participants wore cone hats simulating tunnel vision, spun three times, and navigated under a limbo stick.

• Three-Legged Course Race – Participants paired up, tied one leg together, and completed a short obstacle course before kicking a ball into a goal.

SDSC also joined the event by setting up a boccia booth and merchandise table, allowing families to learn more about para sports and the organisation’s efforts in promoting inclusivity. We were further honoured to have Mr. Faizal, a local artist, volunteers his time and talent to support the cause through his beautiful caricatures.

INSPIRING HEARTS, BUILDING A KINDER COMMUNITY 

Through this project, our children learned that everyone can play a part in building an inclusive community. They discovered that being kind, empathetic, and inclusive are not just values, but actions that make a difference.

We are incredibly proud of our children for their enthusiasm, compassion, and teamwork throughout this six-month journey. Together with SDSC, we continue to inspire a generation that believes in a world where everyone belongs and every ability shines.
