Star Learners Childcare @ Rivervale
For this year’s SSDB theme is “Together for Tomorrow: Empowering Young Hearts”, we partnered with NTUC Health Senior Day Care Centre. We selected this collaboration with the aim of fostering intergenerational bonding, nurturing values such as empathy, respect, and kindness in our children, and providing them with meaningful opportunities to connect with the elderly in our community.
In line with their ongoing Go Green campaign, the children did nature-related crafts with the elderly such as using natural items to create a nature collage together and painting recycled bottles to make vases for plants.
By interacting with seniors, the children learnt to appreciate and care for others, especially those from different generations, a valuable life lesson that supports the development of social responsibility from a young age.
