Theme: Let’s Save Water

This year, the K1 children embarked on their project under the overarching theme, Caring for Nature and the Environment, in collaboration with the Ministry of Sustainability and the Environment (MSE) and the Marina Barrage.

The children commenced their learning journey by reading the book “Why Should We Save Water?” Following the reading, they engaged in discussions about the importance of water conservation and reflected on various practical ways to save water. To deepen their understanding, they viewed videos provided by our partner.

In addition, the children completed a written activity in the Go Green booklet focusing on the topic of water conservation.

They also worked on poster creations titled “ Saving Water”, with guidance  and support from their parents. These posters were then shared during a class “Show and Tell” session, allowing the children to present their ideas and creativity.

At the beginning of the school term 3, the children went on a fieldtrip to Marina Barrage. During the visit, they learned about the role of the barrage in flood prevention for Singapore’s low-lying areas and gained insights into the impact of global warming, particularly the issue of rising sea levels.
