K2 Respect: A Visit to the Elders

When the children learnt that their class will be visiting St. Andrew’s Nursing Home, they participated actively in the discussion on what they can do to make the elderly feel happy and loved. They came up with the idea of performing a skit, song and dance items, and suggested shoulders massage for the elderly. They also thought of having small talks with the elders through ‘walk, stop and talk’, a game patterned from musical chair.

During the visit, the children performed their numbers with gusto. The elders were all in smiles as they watched the children’s performances. They joined in the singing as the children performed. *Chinese Skit

It was evident that the elders enjoyed their interaction with the children. Likewise, the children also had a great time with the elders. The children happily received paper flowers made by the residents of St. Andrew’s Nursing Home.
