In conjuction with the theme “Be kind to the environment”, My First Skool Pasir Ris Blk 637 took on a project of tree planting at Pulau Ubin. The main objectives of the event was to Re-live, Appreciate, Discover, Respect and Care for the environment as it coincides with The Ubin Way by the NParks.
As we all know, trees contribute to the environment by providing oxygen, improving air quality, climate, conserving water, preserving soil and supporting wildlife.
Hence, it is important for us to impart this knowledge to the children and their parents.
The children alongside with their parents worked as a team to dig up the soil and plant shrubs before watering them. Through this parental involvement, it also helps to create awareness on the importance of our ecosystem. And not forgetting their happy faces!
