As a follow up to our Charity Bazaar, the K2 children, teachers and staff of Changi General Hospital brought the food items that parents had donated to ‘All Saints Nursing Home’, Tampines Branch, on 23rd July 2018.
The children were brimming with excitement to begin the programme that the teachers had planned and prepared. They kickstarted the event with a Chinese song and dance routine followed by a rendition of the song “We Are the World”.
The children had also prepared heart shaped origami crafts that they had folded in class to present to the old folks. In addition, the teachers and staff had also prepared goodie bags for the old folks which the children helped to distribute. As the children mingled with the old folks, they practiced the virtues of generosity, kindness and empathy. The children also took extra care to be respectful and gentle when participating in a game of ‘Badminton Balloon’ with the old folks.
As the visit came to an end, the children said goodbye to their newfound friends at ‘All Saints Nursing Home’ and returned to the centre with an appreciation for the care of elderly in our community.
