Aligned with our centre’s focus on sustainability efforts this year, we embarked on our 2025 SSDB project focussing on Recycling and Upcycling programmes. Our “Trash to Treasure Troop” project kicked off with the Recycling Drive, with the objectives to provide opportunities for our children to take small but positive actions leading to a positive mindset to save the Earth. 23rd June - 11th July 2025 - Recycling Drive
Involving our parents in this project was our key strategy to success. During the Recycling Drive, we invited parents to donate some recyclables for our Recycling League Project and for our Upcycling activities. As the first step, the children created their invitations for their parents on their own.
18th March - 30th September 2025 - Recycling League Project
As part of our SSDB project, we are participating in the Recycling League Project. The objectives were to provide opportunities for parents to role model the correct way of recycling in handling waste, and to cultivate a good habit for children to learn and practice recycling. We set up recycling bins inside and outside our main entrance for parents and children to fill up with some recyclables. Over a period of two weeks, Cora Environment, our partner, collected the recyclables. It was an ongoing process till the end of September.
The collection of recyclable materials was successful as most parents and children participated in the Recycling Drive. With the positive response we got, we planned for our second stage of upcycling activities, and final stage of paying forward to the community.
