On 25 April 2025, the Start Small Dream Big (SSDB) initiative was launched with the slogan of “Shaping the Future through Acts of Kindness.”
The launch marked the official beginning of a meaningful SSDB journey. Two weeks prior to the launch, families were encouraged to carry out and capture acts of kindness within their homes and in the community. Teachers also captured kind acts within the school. These captured moments were shown as a video to the children as a discussion point and emphasis on kindness-in-action.
Children engaged in simple yet thoughtful acts of kindness, showing care and appreciation for their family members, friends, and the people around them. These genuine actions helped the children understand the importance of empathy, gratitude, and connection.
The children then carried out the SSDB theme song, “Step by Step” where they danced with enthusiasm.
Each class also showcased their creativity and kindness through art and craft. The Kindergarten 2 children created vibrant Kindness Posters, to express positive feelings about being kind such as sharing is caring and showing a smile to others.
The Kindergarten 1 children designed Thank You Cards to express appreciation to their friends.
The Nursery 2 children painted Kindness Rocks, with the kind words on it.
The Nursery 1 children made cheerful Kindness Crowns to wear and say the kindness words to each other or aloud.
The Playgroup children used their little hands to create colourful Kindness Handprints, symbolizing their willingness to help and care for others.
The SSDB launch set a positive tone for the months ahead as we continue to nurture compassionate and responsible little citizens. Together with our families, we are proud to be shaping a brighter future—one kind act at a time.
