SSDB 2025 - My First Skool at 211 Jurong East (JEC)

This year, our Start Small Dream Big (SSDB) journey centred around the theme of Recycling and Clean Public Spaces, where children were meaningfully involved in hands-on experiences that encouraged care for the environment and community.

Our project launched on 22 April 2025, in conjunction with Earth Day, through a special litter-picking activity at Blk 210 Jurong East. Together with the seniors from Loving Hearts, our little environmentalists worked hand-in-hand to keep the neighbourhood clean. They also helped complete our vibrant SSDB Launch Banner, creatively made using recycled materials such as bottle caps and plastic bags.

🌟 Special Event Highlight

In collaboration with the Bright Horizons Fund, we organised a Family Day cum Fundraising Event, where children showcased their creativity by building sustainable games from cardboard and other recycled materials. Another key highlight was the JEC Art Gallery, where families and visitors could admire and purchase beautiful artwork lovingly crafted by our children. All proceeds were donated to the Bright Horizons Fund, reinforcing the value of giving back to the community.

Throughout the month of April, also recognised as our Environmental Month, the children took part in various discussions and activities that deepened their understanding of environmental care. From exploring the impact of littering to learning how to sort recyclables, the children were active participants in building a greener future.

💚 Through these experiences, our young changemakers have learned that no one is too small to make a difference — and together, we can create a cleaner, kinder world.
