Our Nursery children of My first skool of BUKIT Baton East Community Club Level 4, embarked in a series of activities around the theme of ‘Save Our Earth’
Firstly, children were taught what is recycling and how it would help the earth. To create awareness of our project, they did some crafts using tot tubes and boxes.
SSDB Launching Party/ Parents Day on 17thMay 2018
A few weeks before the event, parents were asked to use recycle materials to so any craft work with their children. On the event day, children brought along their recycle crafts to share in a ‘Show n Tell’ session. Firstly they entertained their parents by singing the ‘Kindness Song!’
Then they proudly took turns to do a little sharing of their craft works. Some children needed encouragement from parents to speak!
Children also showcased a groupwork depicting a cleanhousing estate and a clean beach!
Cleaning our Neighbourhood!
Our next activity was to encourage children to pick up litter around our school. Through this event children discovered the joy and impact of keeping our neighbourhood clean.
Recycle Day!
Every Monday is our recycling day for parents and children, they donate their recyclable items which are consolidated and sorted before placing them in the recycle bin.
Children were exposed to different types of itemsfound in our school’s recycle bins. They learnt about materials like paper, plastic,metal and glass.
After sorting outtheitems ,they carried the recyclables toarecycle bin some walking distance away.
Clean the Beach!
Parents and chdrenwere excited to be involvedincleaning UP East Coast Park Area B on 14th July 2018. Having in mind what to pick,chimdrenwaljed along the beach with tongs and trash bags looking for litter.They wereveryproudtbat they have made a difference to the beach!
These strings of meaningful activities taught children the importance of throwing litter into proper places and how all of us can play a part to protect our Earth.
