On 1 August 2025, our SSDB (Start Small Dream Big) team had the exciting opportunity to participate in Mandai Wildlife’s Wilderful Singaporeans programme — a meaningful initiative that celebrates Singapore’s native wildlife.
Our K1 and K2 children proudly showcased their ongoing project on smooth-coated otters, which aims to raise awareness and promote conservation efforts. As part of the project, the children created otter-themed coasters in collaboration with the elderly at Singapore Christian Home, fostering intergenerational bonding through creative expression. They also invited members of the public to make an ‘Otter Promise’ — a pledge to protect otters and keep our waterways clean — and distributed informative flyers to spread awareness about how we can all play a part in caring for our local wildlife. They confidently engaged with the public, sharing their project journey and what they had learned. Through this collaboration, the children not only deepened their understanding of environmental responsibility but also developed important communication, confidence, and social skills.
