To kick start our SSDB project 2019, the children and teachers in MK@Kranji decide to grow plants closely related to our cultures which the children would have eaten at home. Hence, the children will be able to relate and appreciate plants that give them food they eat. To make it more meaningful for the children, we worked with Nparks to conduct a workshop where parents were also invited to attend. These helped learning to continue at home where parents could advocate the same message and good value to our children. We started with planting the seed, transferring the young plant, watering, and trimming the plants for about 10 minutes daily 😊. This process will help the children to understand the effort to put food on the table and thus, learn to give back to the society by being kind to nature.
