Oh What a Day at the Singapore Discovery Centre!

K2 children went on an excursion to the Singapore Discovery Centre on 26th June 2025 to explore food and sustainability. Through interactive exhibits and hands-on activities, they learned how food is grown, processed, and reaches our tables. This helped them appreciate the effort behind food production and the importance of not wasting it.

The excursion also encouraged environmental responsibility by highlighting issues like food waste and resource conservation. It aimed to nurture values such as gratitude, respect for nature, and shared responsibility for a sustainable future.

The children then put their learning into practice by starting their very own spring onion farm at school. They carefully planted the bulbs in soil, made sure the plants received enough sunlight and water, and monitored their growth each day. This hands-on experience not only reinforced their understanding of plant life cycles and sustainability, but also nurtured a sense of responsibility and pride as they took care of their growing crops.
