On 5 May 2023, our centre launched our SSDB project! In conjunction with SSDB’s SSDB theme “Many Helping Hands, Caring For Everyone”, we planned an art fundraising event, involving the K1 Kindness One class children and parents, to show care by raising funds for the community.
Tapping on the children’s interests, the children created paintings on canvases, which will be available for parents to purchase during the fundraising event. All proceeds from the event will be used to purchase items for our seniors at NTUC SilverAce at Lengkok Bahru. The children have been interacting with the seniors through our monthly engagement sessions.
On the launch day, the class teacher presented more information about SSDB project and it’s objective. The children also put up a short performance of the song “Sing Your Wishes” for their parents to thank them for coming. During the fundraising event, parents purchased the children’s painting and some were very generous in their purchase! All in all, the families enjoyed the day and it gives the children a sense of accomplishment. In the next few weeks we will be getting the items for the seniors. Stay tuned for more updates!
