MOE kindergarten @ Zhenghua is thrilled to participate in Start Small Dream Big (SSDB) again this year. This round we are focusing on the theme: Caring for our community. We have reached out to Fei Yue Active Aging Centre (AAC) near our school for collaboration which provided opportunities for interactions between our children and the seniors in our community.
Our objectives:
-To develop in children an awareness of the importance of showing respect towards people they interact with.
-To educate children on people from diverse backgrounds and with different abilities, needs and/or opinions.
-To help seniors increase sense of social engagement and improve their welfare by enhancing emotional, physical and cognitive health through these interactions.
Celebrating Seniors - 25 April 2025
We have invited seniors from ACC to come to our school for a celebration!
Our children brought smiles to the seniors as they performed some songs and dances which they have learnt in school.
The seniors had opportunity to showcase their talent in music with ukelele performance too. Our children were impressed by their amazing performance!
Our children then partnered with the seniors to complete some fun yet interactive games together such as Number Jumble, Bookmark making and Charades.
Both children and seniors had an enjoyable time forging new friendships through these specially planned activities!
