About 160 K1 children were excited to ‘GO GREEN’. Together with the partnerships with their parents, the children brought pre-loved clothes for recycling as part of their Start Small Dream Big (SSDB) initiative of ‘going green’. The children brought their pre-loved clothes along during their Neighbourhood Walk on 7 May 2025.
The objectives of the Neighbourhood Walk were firstly to do a scavenger hunt by making observations during the walk and gathering ingormation to find out more about the people, places and features in the neighbourhood. The children also got to demonstrate appropriate behaviours and safety practices during the walk. They had the opportunity to interact respectfully with the people they met during the walk. Lastly, they dropped their pre-loved clothes in the yellow recycling box.
Children practise their ‘GO GREEN’ cheer before the walk.
One of the children shows his pre-loved clothes! Children proudly carry their pre-loved clothes by themselves during the walk.
The children find the recycling bin on Level 2. The teachers explain more about textiles recycling and what other items can be put inside the box.
The children perform the ‘GO GREEN’ cheer in front of the yellow box, drawing curiousity and admiration from passers-by and on-lookers!
Children aim for the yellow box by themselves. Their classmates cheer when the throw is successful and encourage their classmates to not give up when they miss!
Children interact with residents to raise awareness about ‘GO GREEN’ by getting the residents to scan for their ‘GO GREEN’ poster to encourage residents to recycle their pre-loved clothes too!
