Little Acts Make Big Impacts (Recyling)

The K1 and K2 children of PCF Sparkletots Preschool @ Ulu Pandan Blk 24 (DS) participated in the launch of this year’s SSDB project with the theme “Little Acts Make Big Impacts”. In this project, the children learnt about the importance of recycling and simple ways they can do to protect the environment as young children.

Prior to the launch, letters were sent out to parents to encourage their participation as well by letting their children bring recyclable materials to school.

In a week-long celebration, the children gave their personal meaning to what is recycling, identified different recyclable and non-recyclable materials, and even made a crafty artwork with some of the materials they brought!

The children’s experience about recycling did not stop in school as they made posters to remind their families that they too can recycle at home.

The children’s learning about recycling was culminated when they themselves practiced sorting out the recyclable materials they brought to school.

In continuation of this project, we are planning to create a Green Corner in our centre so the children will be reminded of recycling all the time. :)
