During our class discussion about recycling, the K2 children were excited to find out how recyclables are being collected! So, we did a virtual tour to the Recycling Center to let the children watch how recyclables are being collected by the recycling truck and sent to the Materials Recovery Facility! During the show, the children also learnt about what are the things that cannot be recycled (e.g., shoes, clothings, tissue papers…etc). They also learnt how to recycle electronic waste in e-waste bins. After the virtual tour, we brought our children out to pick up the litter around their neighbourhood. The children were surprised to see that there were so many litter on the grass and flyers on the floor. We also discussed how we can bring awareness of no littering and recycling to the public. After the children have collected the litter, we asked the children to sort the litters according to recyclable and non-recyclable materials, and they helped to throw them into the dustbin and recycling bin.
