Kindness Matters

COVID-19 indeed created a huge impact on everyone. It limited the activities that we usually do because of some restrictions. However, it would never stop one thing - that is showing kindness and appreciation to people who matters most.

VIRTUAL LAUNCH

During the virtual launch on 19th June, we had a simple kickstart of the activity by introducing the activities to the children. They may not be everything that we have planned for, but they surely would still be meaningful as they learn virtues of kindness and compassion. We created our ‘Special Agent’ badges and also recited the pledge together.

ACTIVITY 1: INTERGENERATION VIRTUAL ENGAGEMENT VIA ZOOM

We were not able to visit our dear seniors at Bright Hill Evergreen Home due to some existing restrictions. This is to ensure that the safety of the residents as we know that they are also vulnerable to the disease. So, we came up with the idea of the virtual engagement to check on their well-being and also to mingle with them.

We had the virtual engagement last 14th August. We are very glad to see all the Ah Gongs and Ah Mas doing well, and it was heartwarming to see them equally excited to see us too. We had a little chat with them and also prepared performances. We surely missed each other!

ACTIVITY 2: APPRECIATION TO COMMUNITY PARTNERS AND HEALTH CARE WORKERS

On 11th September, we had a short cookery activity in our school by preparing some No-bake Fruit Pebbles to give to our community partners and to some health care workers.

We also went out to personally deliver the no-bake cookies we made. We visited the staff at Punggol Vista Community Centre and Pro-Health Medical Clinic to deliver the fruity pebbles. Meanwhile, one of our teachers helped us by going over to Bright Hill Evergreen Home to deliver some for the healthcare workers there.

We understand that theie jobs as frontliners are never easy. This is just our simple way of remembering them and showing our appreciation to them for all their hardwork and dedication in ensuring the well-being of the people under their care. KINDNESS MATTERS especially in this difficult and trying time. We have our hopes up that this, too shall end soon.
