Inspired by Singa and the Kindness Cubbies to show and share kindness around us, our K1 children wanted to show kindness and appreciation to the environment by starting a garden in our school.
After a few sessions of discussion, the children decided on the name and pledge of the garden. They named it āKindness Gardenā and pledged to take care of the garden every day.
The children also came up with the lyrics of their own gardening song called āGarden Greenā. They enjoyed singing the song with actions at the start of each Start Small Dream Big session.
This co-creation process with the children shows that we value their contribution and ideas, therefore motivating childrenās participation in this Kindness Garden project.
