Kindness Day @ Balam Road

In PCF Sparkletots Preschool@ Macpherson Block 31, we believe in spreading kindness beyond our school walls. Three years ago, when the Kindness Day movement started in our centre, the staff wanted the children to spread their kindness to the people in their community. The objective was to educate the children that kindness is for everyone, regardless of age.

Located near our Kindergarten was a senior activity centre called “CARElderly Seniors Activity Centre”. We decided that would be the perfect start for our Kindness Day movement. We approached the person in-charge and told them about our ideas. They were very approachable and were glad that the children wanted to volunteer their time.

The children from Kindergarten 1 and 2 were excited and wanted to show them the dance the teacher had taught them. They also created cards filled with beautiful pictures and well wishes for the seniors at the centre.

As you can see below, both the young and the young at heart enjoyed the performance.

The Kindergarten 2 also had the chance to serve lunch for the elderly.

Eh, wait!!!

Don’t worry! The Nursery was not left out in our Kindness Day movement. For Our Nursery students, they created a Singa puppet from the Singapore Kindness Movement and gave it to the parents in our school.

It was a humorous sight to see the Nursery students approaching the parents that were outside the school.

Our centre has been doing this Kindness Day movement for the past three years and we have seen a positive change in our students. Not only do they look forward every year to perform for the elderly, they are also finding new ways to spread kindness all around, starting with the ones closest to them.
