On the 19th of July, Kinderland Preschool @Hougang organized a Kindness Carnival to raise funds for the Lion Befrienders’ Club. In the weeks leading up to the event, our teachers and children prepared games, crafts and different types of food which were sold during the Carnival. In relation to kindness, the children were read stories on how people show kindness in different ways, and they practiced these acts of kindness in their daily activities. The children also performed songs based on kindness during the event, and shared with their peers about respect, courtesy and being kind through these songs.
Our teachers and children worked together to make creative and beautiful bags relating to the theme of kindness. During the carnival, our K1 and K2 children helped to manage stalls and sell crafts and food as part of this Little Entrepreneur Programme, whereby children were given first-hand experience in being little entrepreneurs. Overall, everyone had an enjoyable time at the carnival!
