Heart in Action - Spreading Kindness and Understanding

From Cheering Squads to Blindfolded Adventures: Our Little Empathy Ninjas Take On The World!

Hold onto your SSDB hats, because things got wonderfully wild and wonderfully warm-hearted at school today! We officially kicked off our “Start Small, Dream Big” journey, and let me tell you, our little friends proved they are not just adorable, they are bona fide empathy ninjas in training!

First up, we had the rockstars from St. Luke’s ElderCare and the mighty Singapore Red Cross swing by. Now, you might think a presentation about community service would have a bunch of pint-sized pirates plotting their next sandbox raid. Oh no, not our children! Their eyes were wide as saucers (the “wow” kind, not the “I just saw a monster under my bed” kind) as they soaked up stories about caring for others.

But the real magic happened when we split them into their empathy-training dojos (a.k.a. classrooms).

Our N2 crew, the champions of chaos and cuddles, transformed into the most enthusiastic passing and cheering squad you ever did see! They learned that working together and giving a hearty “You can do it!” makes everything more fun. It was less about who caught the object and more about the collective cheer when a friend did well. Pure teamwork, joy, and supportive sportsmanship you will ever witness.

Then came the K1 Heroes with their “Blindfolded Obstacle Adventure.” Our K1s were blindfolded, and navigated through the challenging course cushions and blanket tunnels like tiny, trusting Jedi. Their partners, armed with only their voices, were the unsung heroes, proving that sometimes, the best way to see is to listen and to trust. I swear, you could practically hear their little brains going, “Whoa, my ears are like super-sight!”

And finally, our K2 Masterminds delved into the profound world of emotions with “Feeling Faces & Story Game.”We are talking about Broadway-level acting here, as they explored what it feels like to be included (happy face!) or, gasp, excluded (sad face!). They brainstormed solutions faster than you can say “sharing is caring,” transforming hypothetical playground dramas into lessons in kindness. It was like a miniature empathy think-tank, proving that even the littlest hearts can hold the biggest capacity for understanding.

So, there you have it. Our school is officially a hub for future changemakers, compassionate citizens, and possibly, world-class cheerleaders and blindfolded obstacle course champions. Who knew learning about community spirit could be so much fun? We are not just raising children; we are raising future superheroes, one shared cheer and one kind word at a time. And frankly, the world could use a whole lot more of that.
