On 26 April 2025, during our Open House, Artemis Preskool officially kicked off our Start Small Dream Big (SSDB)journey with an engaging and meaningful workshop for both parents and children!
With a shared mission to introduce hydroponics and contribute to the community, families came together to learn aboutour school’s hydroponics system and the exciting world of soil-free planting.
🌿 Workshop with Parents: Growing Together
During the workshop, parents and children explored how our hydroponics system works and discovered how plants can grow without soil. The session was filled with curiosity, fun questions, and plenty of smiles as everyone learned something new together.
💧 Discovering Hydroponics
Our little learners were introduced to the idea of hydroponics—growing plants using water and nutrients instead of soil—a smart and sustainable way perfect for Singapore’s limited space.
🇸🇬 Learning About Singapore’s 30 by 30
As part of the session, we also shared about Singapore’s 30 by 30 vision—to produce 30% of our nation’s nutritional needs locally by 2030. This helped our children and families understand that their small steps are part of a bigger national goal for sustainability and food security.
💖 Growing More Than Just Vegetables
This SSDB project is about more than growing plants. Through this journey, children will learn responsibility, empathy, and how to care for others by eventually harvesting, packaging, and sharing their produce with the community.
📷Seeds of Joy & Learning
The workshop was full of happy moments—parents and children planting seeds side by side, sharing smiles, and enjoying the experience together. With every seed planted, we’re growing not just vegetables, but confidence, compassion, and a strong sense of community.
At Artemis Preskool, we believe that from little seeds come big deeds. And with our SSDB project blooming, we can’t wait to see how our children continue to grow, give, and dream big—together with their families.
