As part of our ongoing efforts to nurture environmentally responsible young learners, the children participated in our Friends of the Environment learning experience. This initiative aimed to build awareness about the importance of recycling, reducing waste, and taking care of our natural surroundings.
To extend their learning beyond the classroom, we brought the children on an excursion to Canberra Park, where they actively took part in a litter-picking activity. As they picked up wrappers, bottles, and other discarded items, discussions naturally emerged about how such materials could have been reused, recycled, or disposed of properly.
Prior to the park visit, the children engaged in a class discussion about recyclable vs. non-recyclable items, exploring how common household objects like plastic containers, cardboard boxes, and glass jars can be given new life through recycling or creative reuse.
