Food for Thought: Sustainable Choices for Earth

During Earth Week, the children engaged in meaningful activities that helped them learn how everyday choices—like recycling, conserving water, and making mindful food decisions—can positively impact the planet. They came to understand that caring for the Earth is a shared responsibility, one they can embrace alongside their families and community with pride.

Throughout the week-long collection drive, children teamed up with their families to gather used beverage cartons and bring them to school for recycling. Their collective effort resulted in an impressive total of 17kg of cartons being recycled, highlighting the power of community action in caring for the environment.

Children took part in water relay games to learn why every drop counts and to appreciate the importance of conserving water - a vital resource in Singapore.

Through engaging talks by the Singapore Food Agency, children explored the journey food takes before reaching their plates and discovered the importance of growing food locally in Singapore. They gained a deeper appreciation for farmers and food producers, while also learning about food safety and the need to reduce food wastage.

Through our ongoing partnership with the Singapore Art Museum, children transformed recycled materials into artworks for the Think! Contemporary Preschool Exhibition, held at HarbourFront Centre and open to the public. They discovered that creativity and environmental care work together beautifully. They advocated sustainability and confidently showcased their artworks to the Guest of Honour and exhibition visitors.
