Bridging the Generation Gap between The Young and Old-Caring for Elderly (PCF Ulu Pandan Blk 15)

One of the most extraordinary and lasting human connection in our society is between grandparent and their grandchildren. The children are the living extension of an elder’s life.

-Leonard J.Hansen

Children in our centre were read stories about how to care for their grandparents/eldery.

Children were brought to Lion Befrienders @ Ghim Moh Road Blk 18. Prior to going there, children were encouraged to contribute food items to bring along. Children told their parents about the on going project and lots of food contributions came raining down to our centre till the day we visited the Elderly care. Teachers helped to pack the items and children brought it along with them to Lions Befrienders.

N2, K1 & K2 classes visited the Elderly on 19th & 20th June 2017. They did cards for the Elderly and also performed for them for some songs. The elderly at the centre had so much fun bonding with the children and we thanked them for giving us an opportunity to inculcate the values of empathy and care from a young age.

N1 class went outdoor on a fine day and they shared some love with the community helpers around the neighbourhood area. Children were taught to appreciate the helpers for helping to keep our place clean & green despite their age.

We aim to create an inclusive society; Where people of all ages and different walks of life can live together in harmony.
