Artemis Preskool @ Tampines Sparks Green Spirit with SSDB Pop-Up Market!

On 8 July 2025, Artemis Preskool @ Tampines buzzed with excitement as our young eco-warriors came together to launch a vibrant SSDB Pop-Up Market, featuring fresh, homegrown Bok Choy sold at just $2 a bundle. This fun and educational event was more than just a market — it was a hands-on experience that brought together all levels of our preschool community for a meaningful cause.

The star sellers were our confident K2 children, who proudly took on the role of market guides and vendors. They enthusiastically explained the fascinating process of hydroponics — how plants grow without soil, using nutrient-rich water instead. With clear and confident voices, they shared how the system works with parents and visitors, helping everyone appreciate the science behind our fresh produce. Beyond explaining, they also practiced important life skills like counting money and communicating politely as they sold the bok choy with big smiles.

Meanwhile, the curious and hardworking N2 children got their hands green by taking care of the bok choy from start to finish. They were involved in planting the seeds, nurturing the plants, and harvesting the leafy greens, gaining firsthand knowledge about how food grows and the importance of caring for nature. Their enthusiasm and dedication made the market truly special.

Adding an extra layer of excitement, our creative K1 children took charge of marketing by producing a lively video announcement to invite parents and families to support the event. Their cheerful voices and heartfelt messages helped spread the word and showed the power of teamwork and communication.

All proceeds from this pop-up market will be donated to the President’s Challenge, teaching our little learners the value of generosity and community support. This project helped nurture not only green thumbs but also caring hearts, showing how even the smallest hands can make a big difference.

It was a fantastic day filled with learning, sharing, and growing — both plants and hearts alike. We are proud of our children for their hard work and hope to inspire more young eco-heroes in the future!
