K1 and K2 children visited our neighbourhood seniors at Fei Yue @ Hougang Dewcourt on 8th and 22nd May 2019. They interacted and befriended the seniors from Pioneer as well Merdeka Generations.
Our children served their senior friends beverages and performed for them. The seniors were delighted and enjoyed the performances.
K1 children learnt how to play traditional games like Chapteh, Pickup Sticks, Five Stones and Snakes and Ladders from the seniors while K2 children learnt about the early years of Singapore and the senior’s contributions to the nation.
On both visits, children listened to stories about Kampung days, learnt to appreciate the hard work of the seniors and the values of respect and care for the seniors.
The children looked forward to the next visit in July to create interesting pieces with their new friends!
