A Lifestyle for a Lifetime

SSDB Launch Party

This year, our SSDB Launch Party was in conjunction with the Centre’s Family Day event held at Taman Jurong Community Club, on the 24th of June 2023. The event was executed in collaboration with the support of several partners, i.e. TJCC, Tasek Jurong, Families For Life, Preschool Market and Kindred Studio

Throughout the month of June, every level had been engaged in learning about various ways we could create and sustain healthy habits; each level was also provide an opportunity to explore in depth on a specific domain of well-being/healthy habits.

For our launch party, we took inspiration from the Olympics when planning for the carnival. During our event at TJCC, there were an array of booths, catered to both the lower age and older age groups, with every both based off a specific country/continent. The activities planned for each booth were based off a renowned sport from their respective countries/continents. For example, the Africa booth was focused on running activities, the Antarctica booth facilitated ice-fishing games, etc.

With the meaningful objective of creating an awareness and deeper understanding of the significance in creating and sustaining healthy eating and active living, we also had the opportunity to open the event up to the public.

Mass Dance

We kicked off the event with a lively mass Zumba dance facilitate by a few of our Centre’s teachers. It was a fun and engaging way to set the tone and get everyone thrilled for the celebration.

Booths and Activities

We had a blast with the celebration as the venue was packed with lots of enthusiastic participants, families from all around and everyone was meaningfully engaged as they explored among the different booths. The activities at the booths all also included healthy/unhealthy foods to tie in with our objective of encouraging children to identify the various types of food. Competitions were also held for each level, encouraging parent participation with their children. The families had a fantastic time competing in games like wheelbarrow races, sensory tub treasure hunts, piggyback races, etc. Our winners of the different competitions were also able to bring home their own trophies!

Gallery Walk

At the event, the teachers had also created a gallery walk, documenting the various focus domains their respective levels had inquired on during June. (refer to photo collages)

Overall, the Launch Party was a great success and it was a momentous experience for everybody as we immersed ourselves in the celebration and took away both a deeper appreciation for curating and sustaining a healthy lifestyle.
