Activity 3: “The Empty Pot” skit
Children reenact the story of “The Empty Pot” written by Demi. Making using of the virtual background dating back to the ancient times in China, the children take up the roles of the characters in the story. As the story depicts, Ping the Chinese boy with green thumb displays virtues of honesty and bravery. Eventually, he is appointed as the Emperor of China.
The props - Emperor’s crown and robe, flowers and flower pots, official’s hat and scroll were handmade by the children using recycled materials. Recycled materials like used clothing, cardboard, plastic bags and toilet rolls.
