WOW Wild Learn Programme (娃娃游园乐)

The Committee to Promote Chinese Language Learning (CPCLL) is collaborating with Wildlife Reserve Singapore Group (WRS) to conduct the Wow Wild Learn (娃娃游园乐) programme.

The WOW (World of Wildlife) Wild Learn programme is the fruit of a collaboration between the Committee to Promote Chinese Language Learning (CPCLL) and Wildlife Reserves Singapore (WRS) to provide a series of workshop, activities and supplementary readings, revolving around a learning journey to the River Safari. It aims to promote learning of Mandarin in a fun, enriching way through engaging students in outdoor learning and parent-child bonding activities.

The lessons were conducted both in the classroom and outside the classroom. It took children outside of the classroom to learn about wildlife on a tour through the River Safari, employ music and dance in educating children about the two pandas and the other animals in the River Safari, and involve parents in the crafting of panda models using recycled materials and logging different stages of the process. Workshops and books aid Chinese teachers in carrying out these interactive and engaging lessons, which said teachers had to attend full-day training sessions to learn how to conduct. The 8 lessons of the elaborate programmes covered all 6 learning domains.

We took the opportunity of our Father’s Day celebration to invite parents to our centre for parent-child bonding activities and watch their children performing a musical skit about pandas.
